Marketing on a Budget

Setting up a business and coming up with high-quality, useful products and services is a difficult challenge. Once you have managed that hurdle, the next one is to be able to spread the word of your brand and creations with effective marketing. A lot of new businesses encounter financial problems when it comes to marketing because they have to spend so much money developing products and services that are both innovative and unique. Saving money at this stage may not be an option, but there is a way to spend little and market well if you follow these hints and tips.

Start Using Social Media

Social media is one of the best places to promote your business. Every man and his dog has an account these days so there is no reason to neglect this fantastic stream for engaging potential customers. Although you may want to look into paid advertising that can target people who are likely to be interested in your offerings, you can always start with Facebook pages and Twitter and Instagram accounts for free marketing. You may even want to start your own YouTube channel as well!

Use Referral programmes

Using your current crop of clients and customers to market for you is not only effective – but it comes with little costs. Simply create a scheme where new and existing customers enjoy a small benefit or discount through referrals. The good news is that this marketing technique will only cost you some money if it actually works, so there is no risk of investment.

Play the Host

For businesses who are renting an establishment, another great way to market is to host an event. This could be a charity event or a community event, for startups these events are often to do with the launch of the business. This is a beneficial way to connect with local customers who are likely to be a segment of your target market. Costs do not have to spiral at the event either. Choose homemade catering rather than a catering company to keep costs down. For those that do not own or rent a premises, this idea may be a little out of budget due to location hiring costs.

Publish, Publish and Publish!

If you already own a website and the business has at least one computer, starting a blog can help promote your business. This may cost you some time but actually writing a series of blog posts with links to your website can help direct organic traffic to your business. Entrepreneurs may even want to choose to publish on LinkedIn where they can interact with potential business partners and make their brand known.

Spend money to save money they say. By no means is that still true, but these techniques will mean you get to spend less but still get the rewards. Looking to extend your marketing to branded stationery such as notebooks? Check out our unique custom designer and builder today!
